Waco BlueCats, SWL And Independent Professional Baseball Tryouts

Dallas, TX- The Southwest League has announced that the league will be hosting a two-day tryout on November 3rd and 4th at Prestonwood High School in Plano, TX. Southwest league officials including the Field Managers for the Waco BlueCats, Royse City Griffins, Joplin Miners and to be named Dallas franchise will be in attendance.

The tryout will be held in at Prestonwood Christian Academy, 6801 West Park Blvd in Plano, Texas. Check in will start on Saturday November 3rd at 8:00 am. The tryout will be from 9:00am-4:00pm. There will be several cuts made throughout the day with a handful of prospects being asked to participate in simulated games on November 4th from 3:00pm-6:00pm.

There will be a $100 online registration fee (by clicking the big button above or CLICKING HERE).  If you register on the day of the tryout (November 3, 2018) then it will be a $175 fee.

The hotel is roughly 20-25 minutes away from the field in Plano, Texas.

$69 rate with breakfast for one. There is a $5 additional adult charge which would include breakfast, which is a full, hot breakfast buffet with scrambled eggs, two meats, breakfast potatoes, biscuits and gravy, waffles, assorted fruits and yogurts, assorted bread and Danish’s, cereals, and juice, milk and coffee.

More Information For Players

The Southwest League will be playing baseball in 2019. Our upcoming tryout is meant specifically for:

  • Players that have been released from and affiliated organization.
  • Players wanting to continue their professional baseball career. We are not looking for summer job players.
  • College Players that were not selected in the recent ML Draft.
  • Players that have no eligibility left in college.

For the tryout:

  • Wood Bats only – no Aluminum.
  • Dress appropriately to play baseball i.e.
  • Uniform pants – no shorts or cutoffs.
  • Uniform top.
  • Metal Spikes or Hard Plastic Spikes are OK. (No Turf Tennis or Running shoes)
  • Bring your own Helmet.
